Susan Sarandon

Years before her rise to fame, Susan Sarandon had to obtain her degree in Drama from The Catholic University of America. Her passion and natural talent for acting led her to be the icon she is now. Her most celebrated works include films such as Joe, Thelma and Louise, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. However, aside from portraying various characters in movies and TV shows, it seems that the actress doesn’t get enough credit for her social and political activism efforts. Like many other celebrities, she’s recognized as a UNICEF ambassador and continues to support their advocacies until now.

She has received a number of awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Stockholm International Film Festival and the Outstanding Artistic Life Award for her Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema at the 2011 Shanghai International Film Festival. The actress has also been inducted in the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2010. She is also a known anti-war activist and a supporter of civil rights causes.
